Manuka honey is honey made from the pollen of manuka bush flowers. Cultivated in New Zealand, the unpasteurized, raw honey contains beneficial antibacterial compounds. According to studies conducted by Dr. Peter Molan of Waikato Univeristy, regular doses of manuka honey can kill infectious bacteria such as Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus and Helicobacter pylori.
