I came to this site seeking a question I saw posed here once regarding the mystery of the pain in the side. I have suffered with this for years and am only now getting it sorted. Yesterday I discovered what it might be, so I am posting this as there doesn't seem to have been any answers to the problem yet and many peoiple suffer with it.

Side pain, or pain near your rib cage and abdominal area, can be caused by many conditions. Temporary pain may be gas or a muscle pull, while more piercing or extended side pain can indicate kidney infection.

Although the pain feels like it is coming from the stomach, the stomach is only one organ that could be affected when abdominal pain is present. Other organs that may be affected include the appendix, pancreas, kidneys, intestines and gallbladder.

Crestor is the brand name for the medication rosuvastatin calcium, prescribed to treat high cholesterol. A statin drug manufactured by AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, it can cause some rare but serious side effects.

A sharp pain in your side during jogging isn't cause for concern, though it is unpleasant. Also called side stitches or Exercise-Related Transient Abdominal Pain (ETAP), the sensation isn't unique to joggers.

The appendix is small outpouching located at the beginning of the large intestine. It is typically removed when inflamed, as a burst appendix can cause peritionitis, which is an inflammation of the peritoneum, a membrane that lines the abdominal wall and protects the organs beneath it.
